The Canadian Dairy Commission Scholarship is an annual scholarship developed to support graduate studies in agricultural economics and policy, and food, dairy or animal science as these fields relate to the dairy industry. A few Canadian Universities are participants of these scholarship. The University of Manitoba with the support of CDC(the Canadian Dairy Commission) provides the graduate scholarships to Canadian citizens and permanent residents (i.e., landed immigrants) who:
- are enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba in either the M.Sc. or Ph.D. program;
- are conducting research in the areas of agricultural economics and policy, food science, or animal science (with a maximum of 20% of the total funds available to students in the Department of Animal Science) and whose thesis project has application to the dairy industry.
What does the Canadian Dairy Commission Scholarship Cover?
Masters degree students will be awarded $20,000/yr maximum 2 years;
PhD students will be awarded $30,000/yr maximum 3 years. One time additional sum of $5,000 for travel costs.
