The increase in the number of plug-in vehicles available to customers has led to a large number of charging posts available in town centres etc. There are a limited number of products available which offer non-contact charging of automotive battery packs. The acceptance of plug-in charging for certain automotive segments (for example the premium vehicle sector through Jaguar Land Rover) in not well understood. The relative benefits of the contactless method across the spectrum of technical, social, financial and health aspects is a wide research question. Particular novel aspects of contactless charging could include for example âcontinuous charging on the moveâ which would not be possible from conventional charging.
