New Masters and PhD Scholarships available for 2016 entry

The Birmingham Research Institute for History and Cultures (BRIHC) is delighted to announce exciting new scholarships for campus based postgraduate research and taught programmes starting in September 2016.

Founded in March 2015, BRIHC provides a dynamic and interdisciplinary focal point for research conducted across the School of History and Cultures. Crossing traditional boundaries of chronology, geography, and methodology, it brings together scholars from the departments of History, Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology, and African Studies.

Applicants for the scholarships should be able to demonstrate a track record of excellence in their field and be able to meet the normal entry requirements for the University of Birmingham’s PhD and Masters programmes.

As well as pursuing their own studies, successful candidates will also be expected to contribute to the range of activities which make up the BRIHC’s dynamic research environment.

The deadline for the three scholarships below is May 20 2016.

The scholarships include tuition fees paid at the Home / EU rate and an annual maintenance grant (currently £14,057 p.a.) for three years. Overseas students are eligible to apply, but will receive the Home/EU fee as a contribution towards fees.
