A postdoctoral research associate position for three years is available as part of the UK Centre for Mammalian Synthetic Biology in the lab of Professor Susan Rosser at the University of Edinburgh. Conduct key laboratory research on developing a suite of genetic tools for mammalian synthetic biology and mammalian cell engineering applications. The project will focus on generating genetic tools for the rapid engineering of mammalian cells opening the way for the programming of stem cell fate, therapeutic cell lines, enhanced biologics production in CHO cells and furthering the field of mammalian synthetic biology.
Candidates should hold (or be about to receive) a PhD in synthetic biology, drug discovery and testing, mammalian cell biology, stem cell biology, molecular biology, molecular genetics or a related area. Research experience involving one or more of the following is desirable: synthetic biology, mammalian cell engineering, drug discovery and testing, mammalian stem cell transformation and tissue culture, epigenetics, genetic characterisation.
