Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarship (KESS) Programme MRes Visual Computing



Introduction:

Swansea University’s Department of Computer Science is offering two scholarships for students wishing to study the Visual Computing MRes.

The scholarships are part of the Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarship (KESS) programme, which aims to widen access to postgraduate study and encourage high calibre graduates to work on a range of collaborative research projects with small and medium sized organisations in the Convergence Area of Wales (Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey, Merthyr Tydfil, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Swansea & Torfaen). The successful students will complete a project in conjunction with an allocated company.

*Please note these scholarships are subject to formal agreement between the company partner and the Department of Computer Science*

Candidate eligibility:

  • Due to funding, only master’s applicants from the UK or EU are eligible.
  • Applicants must be resident in the Convergence Area of Wales on enrolment and be permitted to work in the Convergence Area upon completion of the scholarship.
  • Applicants should hold (or be expecting to achieve) a minimum of a 2.1 degree (or equivalent).
  • Applicants should have already applied formally to Swansea University for a place on the MRes Visual Computing programme.

Studentship value:

These scholarships are part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the European Union’s Convergence programme administered by the Welsh Government.

Scholarships will cover the full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a £10,130 student living costs award (tax free).
