Fixed term 12 months
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant with relevant research experience to work on a Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) funded project in the University of the West of Scotland on the development of diagnostic techniques to assess fish health and the impact of sea lice treatment in aquaculture.
You will be educated to PhD level in a relevant area of biology / zoology / aquaculture / biochemistry / health diagnostics and preferably have some practical experience of the aquaculture industry. Work will require the collection of samples from our partner aquaculture facilities, the processing of these samples for biomarker analysis to measure the chronic impact of various sea lice treatments.
The research will be carried out within the Centre for Environmental Research in the School of Science and Sport in UWS and in collaboration with our industry partners. You will be joining a team of academic staff, postgraduate research students and experts from industry and government agencies working in this area and will be based in the Paisley Campus.
