About the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship is the University of Toronto’s most competitive and distinguished undergraduate award for international students. It recognizes:

- Potential to make meaningful contributions globally
- Each year, approximately 37 students are selected as Lester B. Pearson Scholars.
Scholarship Coverage
The award covers all costs for four years of undergraduate study:
- Full tuition fees
- Books and academic materials
- Incidental fees
- Full residence support
Eligibility Criteria (2026 Entry)
To apply, you must:
- Be an international student (non-Canadian, requiring a study permit)
- Be in your final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2025
- Be planning to start studies at the University of Toronto in September 2026
- Not be attending another post-secondary institution before September 2026
Important Deadlines
Each stage of the application process has specific deadlines:
- School nomination deadline: October 10, 2025
- OUAC admission application deadline: October 17, 2025
- Pearson Scholarship application deadline: November 7, 2025
How to Apply – Step-by-Step
Step 1: Get Nominated by Your School
- You must be nominated by your high school to apply.
- Schools not previously registered must apply for nomination access (opens September 2025)
- Returning schools will automatically receive nomination access in early September
- Submit your application for admission to the University of Toronto via the OUAC portal by October 17, 2025.
Note: You can apply to multiple programs, but the Pearson Scholarship is tied to your first-choice program at the time of scholarship decisions.
Once nominated and after applying to U of T, you’ll receive a unique link to complete the Pearson Scholarship application online.
