About the South-West Doctoral Training Centre The South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC) is one of the UKâs largest Centres of postgraduate research training for social scientists. It has been formed by the collaboration of the Universities of Bath, Bristol and Exeter and is accredited by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
The SWDTC delivers a number of research training pathways. Each pathway comprises two parts: a one-year MRes programme, followed by the three-year MPhil or PhD research programme (known as the â1â and the â+3â stages respectively).
The Security, Conflict and Justice pathway Whilst based in the Department of Social & Policy Sciences, this interdisciplinary pathway can include the following subject areas:
1 Stage: Masters of Research: MRes Security, Conflict & Justice
+3 Stage: Doctor of Philosophy: PhD Security, Conflict & Justice
