The Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England (CHASE) comprises the Universities of Kent, East Anglia, Essex, Sussex, Courtauld Institute of Art, Goldsmiths and the Open University.
Further to £17million funding from the Arts and Humanities Council (AHRC) and additional funding from its members, CHASE is able to offer 75 arts and humanities PhD studentships for 2014.

Current Kent PhD students: inform your school's Director of Graduate Studies (with responsibility for research programmes) that you wish to apply, by Friday 31 January 2014.
Candidates wishing to apply for AHRC CHASE funding must first apply online for a PhD place, ideally by 15 January 2014 - this allows time to deal with queries before the final deadline of Friday 31 January 2014. Please clearly state that you would like to be considered for AHRC funding. Note: you are advised to discuss your research project with academic staff from the relevant school as soon as possible.
