Collaborative Partner: Montreal Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine Foundation
Outstanding candidates are invited to apply for a 3-year funded research studentship starting from 1 October 2013, based in the Division of Reproductive Medicine, Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, in collaboration with the Montreal Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine Foundation, and the MRC Genome Damage and Stability Centre, University of Sussex.Â
You will study human oocyte ageing and the cellular mechanisms of aneuploidy arising in female meiosis. The project will involve significant travel between the collaborating centres, and time spent in different locations. You will be researching in a clinical environment so must present a professional demeanour and must meet the requirements for an honorary NHS contract, including Criminal Records Bureau checks.Â

Funding Details: The studentship is tenable for up to three years (full-time), subject to academic progression. It covers tuition fees for Home/European Union students and a stipend (worth £13,726 in 2013-14). The studentship is funded jointly through the Montreal Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine Foundation and the Warwick Collaborative Postgraduate Research Scholarships (WCPRS) scheme. The award includes fees and an allowance for laboratory consumables and travel expenses.Â
Length of Award: 3 years. Registration will be initially for an MPhil, which will be upgraded to PhD subject to appropriate academic progression in the first 12-18 months.
Eligibility: : Due to funding restrictions, this studentship is available to Home (UK & EU) students. You will have a first class honours degree (or at least an upper second class) in a relevant biological subject and you may also have additional research experience from masters study or relevant laboratory work. Â
