Salary: Up to £44,000 including mobility allowance

Applications are invited for two Marie Curie Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) (PhD students)  positions . The positions are associated with a three-year EU-funded project aimed at the development of methods for solving problems of complex systems. The project partners are Linkoping University, Fraunhofer Institute (FKIE Wachtberg), Delft University, Thales Netherlands,  Rinicom Ltd and Ericsson.

You must have a good first degree (minimum class 2:1) in signal processing, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related area. The following background will be useful: statistical signal processing, probability theory, Bayesian inference optimisation methods or equivalent experience, would be beneficial. You will also be experienced in conducting research projects both individually and as part of a team.

To start from October 2013 or as soon as possible after that date.

Eligibility

According to the EU regulations the eligible candidates can be nationals of any country other than the country of the premises of the host organisation where they will carry out their project. Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment.
