Five ESRC PhD Research Studentships in Management and Business Studies are available at Cardiff Business School supported by the ESRC Doctoral Training Centre for Wales (Wales DTC), to commence late September 2014.

Funding and Eligibility
Awards are available on either a 1+3 or +3 basis. A 1+3 studentship provides funding for four years, completing the MSc Social Science Research Methods in year one, followed by the three-year PhD phase. A +3 studentship provides funding for three years only, and assumes that the applicant will already have completed research training via an ESRC-recognised MSc degree (please see ESRC guidance on this).
Studentships will commence in late September 2014 and will cover your tuition fees as well as a maintenance grant (currently £13,726 p.a.) and additional Research Training Support Grant (currently £750 p.a. in the PhD phase) for three/four years for full-time students. Â
Enhanced stipends £3,000 pa above the standard rate may also be awarded to 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students who undertake advanced quantitative training at Masters level and throughout the PhD.Â
We are seeking exceptional applicants with a first-class or very good upper second Honours degree, and/or a Masters degree with an average mark of at least 65%. Due to funding restrictions this studentship is open to UK and EU applicants . EU nationals who have been ordinarily resident in the UK throughout the three-year period immediately preceding the start date of an award (including for the purpose of full-time education) are eligible for a full award. Other EU nationals are eligible for a fees-only award.
