Schemes
1+3 Scheme provides support for students to undertake a 1 year Master's programme, followed by a further 3 years of research at doctoral level. Suitable for applicants with a strong undergraduate degree.Â
+3 Scheme provides support for up to three years of full-time study, or five years of part-time study, on a PhD programme leading to the award of a doctoral degree. Suitable for applicants with an undergraduate and a Masters degree, the latter having a strong research training profile.
Funding Details
The studentships will provide an annual stipend (£13,863 2014/15 [tax free]), a Research Training Support Grant (£750) and UK/EU tuition fees for 3 years (+3 scheme) or 4 years (1+3 scheme).Â
Full studentships are available to UK and EU candidates who have been ordinarily resident in the UK throughout the 3-year period immediately preceding the date of an award. EU candidates who have not been ordinarily resident in the UK for the last 3 years are eligible for "tuition fees-only" awards (no maintenance grant). Unfortunately studentships are not available to non-UK/EU applicants.
For more information and to submit an application, please use the âApplyâ button below.
Deadline for applications: 5.00pm on 20th January 2014. You must email Andy Harrod by the deadline, your Lancaster University application ID, project title and supervisor details and the ESRC NWDTC form, to be considered.
