Project description
The ability of buildings to respond to changes in the environment, such as temperature or moisture, is crucial to enable them to minimise energy use and efficiently optimise the internal environment. This project seeks to develop inherently responsive materials appropriate for building facades, and implement them in prototype cladding systems that do not require sensors or external energy to operate. The project is jointly supervised by the School of Civil Engineering & Geosciences and the School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape.
