Kingâs College London is pleased to invite applications for two prestigious doctoral fellowships in the field of improvement science in healthcare.
These fellowships, managed by Kingâs Improvement Science, offer a new training opportunity to specialise in improvement science to outstanding early-career individuals. It will enable them to work with partners and collaborators in the health service, and ultimately contribute to the knowledge base of the science of improvement.
Kingâs College London is one of only eight leading centres in the UK chosen to host these fellowships by the Health Foundation, an independent charitable foundation that works to continuously improve the quality of healthcare in the UK.
Fellows will be supported by social and clinical scientists and have access to the Health Foundation Improvement Science Network.
Two four-year fellowships are available for students on a full-time basis for either 3 plus 1 (3-year PhD plus 1-year post-doctoral) or 1 plus 3 (1-year MRes plus 3-year PhD).
The PhD studentships will commence in October 2013 or January 2014 and provide an annual tax-free stipend of £15,740, rising to £18,221 in year 4. Full coverage of tuition fees and a conference/travel and research costs allowance is also included.
Deadline for applications is 12:00 GMT 16 August 2013. This deadline is absolute.
Fellowships will be available to students wishing to undertake a PhD research degree around the three themes outlined below.
