Mobility and identity in Iron Age Europe: osteoarchaeological and isotopic analyses of cemetery populations from the East Alpine region
Encounter and Transformations in Iron Age Europe (ENTRANS) is an international collaborative project led by Professor Ian Armit at the University of Bradford with colleagues from the Universities of Zagreb and Ljubljana. It examines cultural encounters between Mediterranean and temperate European societies through material culture, bodily treatments and patterns of landscape inhabitation. Working as part of the broader project team, the role of this PhD is to conduct osteoarchaeological and isotopic analysis on selected Late Bronze and Iron Age populations from the East Alpine region, and to examine issues such as age, sex, diet, health and mobility.
The PhD is funded on the same basis as standard AHRC PhD awards.

Closing date: Wednesday 21st August at 5pm. Interviews will be held on 10th September. The successful candidate will start in October 2013.
