Dr. Matthew Brown and Dr. Antonio Criminisi
Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD studentship in Computer Vision. This will be co-supervised by Dr. Matthew Brown (University of Bath) and Dr. Antonio Criminisi (Microsoft Research Cambridge). The successful applicant will be based at the University of Bath, with frequent visits to Microsoft Research Cambridge anticipated. The successful applicant will also be eligible for internships at MSR.
Areas of interest include: Large-Scale Visual Recognition, Segmentation as Recognition, and Decision Trees/Forests. Applications will include detailed and scalable visual recognition, expert classification systems (e.g., biological and medical classification), and scalable recognition (e.g., ImageNet).
Applicants must have or be soon to obtain:
* Strong Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or MathematicsÂ
* Solid mathematical ability and excellent programming skillsÂ
* Experience in Computer Vision, Graphics and/or Machine Learning preferred
