Project description
This doctoral research programme will utilise population-based data to investigate the life course perspective of obesity and health (particularly comparing White and South Asian women). Structural equation modelling approaches will be used to investigate the complex indirect and direct effects of different drivers of maternal obesity and their impacts on maternal and child-health outcomes. We hypothesise that there is a complex suite of interacting and indirect drivers and that only by investigating these interactions and indirect effects will it be possible to understand the complexity and move towards programmes of intervention.
