This vocational Masters programme is designed for students from a wide range of backgrounds and equips them for a professional career. Transport Planners play a key role in business and in society, by ensuring that transport systems are efficient, equitable, safe and environmentally sound. To do so they need to understand the core principles, techniques and concepts which underpin the discipline. This programme engages students with a highly applied and practical subject area, which is both academically rigorous and vocationally rewarding.
Employability €“ Jobs and Careers The transport sector continues to need people with the right skills and training. Students progress from the programme to a range of graduate-level jobs including those in consultancy, government, transport operators, not-for-profit and international agencies. ITS supports this via our close links with employers.   Accreditation The programme is recognised by the major professional bodies in the transport sector. It is approved as further learning for holders of accredited degrees seeking Chartered Engineer (CEng) status via the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institution of Highways and Transportation (IHT). It also fulfills the educational requirements for membership of Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (CILT UK) and is a pathway to the Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification. www.its.leeds.ac.uk/courses/masters/accreditation   Admission Requirements Applicants should have, or be expecting to achieve, a good honours degree in engineering or a related discipline. It is not a requirement to have studied transport at undergraduate level, but applicants must be able to demonstrate their subject interest.  International students are encouraged to apply, subject to competence in English language (IETLS 6.5 or equivalent). Duration (full or part-time study) The programme is available for full-time study (12 months) or for part-time study (flexible attendance but typically 2-3 years duration). Shorter Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate programmes are also available. All programmes commence in September.
