At the EUI (European Univeristy Instite) the Law Department offers a four-year Ph.D. programme leading to a doctorate. An LL.M. degree is awarded upon the successful completion of the first year of the Ph.D. programme.
Researchers follow a structured programme of research and training. A wide range of seminars and workshops are offered in key fields, many
of which are linked to research projects in the Law Department, or are interdisciplinary and organised jointly with other departments of the EUI.
Researchers will gain experience in presenting their work and will be encouraged to participate in conferences, workshops and the department's very active working groups. They may enrich their programme with research missions around the world or on exchange programmes with partner institutions.
Doctoral supervision is a priority at the EUI, and prospective researchers are always welcome to explore whether their interests fit with those supported by the LAW faculty.
