Applications are invited for a faculty-funded PhD studentship in extragalactic astronomy, under the supervision of Associate Professor Erik Zackrisson. The PhD project is expected to focus on high-redshift galaxies, but may be geared either towards observations or numerical models, depending on the research interests of the applicant. The position as PhD student is limited to four years of full-time studies, or up to five years if departmental work (teaching or administration) is included.
Qualifications: This position requires a University degree in Astronomy or Physics at an advanced level (e.g. a MSc degree) completed by the time of employment. Good oral and written proficiency in English is a requirement as well as the capacity to work both independently and in a team.
