Supply Chain Network Modelling and Optimisation
Programme of Research
Applications are invited for a PhD research studentship in the field of data prediction and analysis in the School of Engineering and Design, Brunel University. The post is funded for 3 years in partnership with an industrial company. The aim of the project is to develop scalable optimisation algorithms that can handle the accumulated analysis of supply chain. The work scope will cover data analysis, network modelling and optimisation, software development for simulation and automation of scalable network modelling process. The scholarship is partially funded by industry and, as such, it will require regular deliverables to be completed under strict deadlines to industrial partner. The deliverables may include software developments, reports and presentations.
Qualification and Experience
Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals with a good first degree (normally 2:1 or higher or an MSc in Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Computer Science or related disciplines). The ideal candidate will have good analytical skills and experience with laboratory work and experimental research, as well as a good theoretical knowledge of data analysis and optimisation preferably using AI techniques. Knowledge and experience in programming in C++ or Java, and with relevant computer simulation software and techniques would be an advantage.
Funding and Eligibility
The studentship will provide funding for three years, plus tuition fees, for home and EU/UK students. Â Funding is only applicable to UK and EU nationals who have resided in the UK for at least 3 years immediately prior to the start of the programme.
