Project Descriptions
The Centre for Security, Communications and Networks Research (CSCAN) at Plymouth University (UK) has one PhD Studentship available for the academic year starting on 1 January 2014. The studentship is available in any of the following projects:
In the application form, each applicant must specify one or two projects in which they are interested, and explain how their expertise fits the proposed research project.
Eligibility
Applicants should have, or expect to obtain, a high grade Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines. The candidates must have good programming skills and a strong motivation for research. Previous experience on error correction coding is desirable.
Funding
The studentship is supported for 3 years and includes full Home/EU tuition fees plus a stipend of £13,726 per annum. The studentship will only fully fund those applicants who are eligible for Home/EU fees with relevant qualifications. Applicants normally required to cover overseas fees will have to cover the difference between the Home/EU and the overseas tuition fee rates (approximately £9,790 per annum).
