Pennine Water Group and Scottish Water Â
A 3 year PhD CASE studentship is available within the Pennine Water Group, Department of Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Sheffield in partnership with Scottish Water. The PhD will seek to take an holistic view working from treatment works, through trunk mains and distribution systems to customer taps which will allow, for the first time, quantification and hence delivery of a fully integrated and quantified understanding of the relative costs and benefits of discolouration management options.
Entry requirements
The studentship is available to UK/EU candidates only, with the equivalent of a first class or upper second class degree in relevant numerate discipline, ideally engineering, but also mathematics, computer sciences or physical geography. Skills in field/experimental work, data analysis and hydraulic network modelling are desirable as is previous experience of water engineering.
