We are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated individual to take up an exciting opportunity with the CRNME. Applications are invited for a 3 year PhD studentship funded by the Centre for Research in Nursing and Midwifery Education within the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey, through an endowment from the General Nursing Council for England & Wales Trust (http://www2.surrey.ac.uk/fhms/research/centres/crnme/) .

Research proposals are invited on the topic of ‘Education in Nursing’ related to one of the following themes:

  • Care of people with long-term conditions
  • Medicines management and patient safety
  • Maternal & women’s health
  • Care of people with cancer
  • Pre-hospital emergency care

Proposals would be particularly welcomed relating to practice in primary care and care home settings.

Funding information:

The post would be offered for full time registration for PhD. The funding will include the tax-free stipend of £16,000.00, tuition fees and £500 funding for conference attendances per year. Support would be provided for applying for funding for training, conferences and travel through external agencies.

Applicant criteria: 

Applicants must have a BSc with First-class honours or MSc (health related) and health care related experience.
