Background
School of Health Sciences World Cities Doctoral Studentship in Comparative Health Economics
The School of Health Sciences, City University London is pleased to be able to offer a three year full time Doctoral Studentship in Comparative Health Economics to commence from 1 October 2013. The focus of the PhD is to perform a systematic comparison of European performance measurement systems with a view to proposing a system for use in the German Health Care Sector. The focus will be on integrating performance measures and where possible patient reported outcomes.
Responsibilities
The Studentship includes a bursary (which will be £16,000 in 2013/14) plus full tuition fee waiver and £1,000, which may be used across the three-year period to cover the cost of conference attendance, equipment purchase or other activity. As part of the studentship the successful candidate may also be expected to undertake some form of teaching support activity as part of the bursary arrangements â the exact form of this will be agreed with the School. The continuation of the Studentship will be subject to the School confirming satisfactory progress at the end of each year.
Person Specification
The successful applicant must have a background in economics and/or public health with a substantial understanding of economics and econometrics in particular. They will be expected to have, at least, a working knowledge of both English and German.
