The project: This research will focus on establishing whether during the early stages of creep stress relaxation there is accumulation of creep damage. Experiments will be undertaken to explore the behaviour of both creep âbrittleâ and creep âductileâ 316H stainless steel. Numerical models will be developed to complement the experiments.Â
Candidate requirements:Â A first or upper second-class degree in engineering, mathematics, science or related discipline
Funding: Tuition fees plus a tax-free stipend of £13,726 per annum, for three years. Project funded by EDF-Energy
