The project: This research aims to develop a deeper understanding of the influence of combined loading on fatigue crack initiation and growth of engineering components when in a Nuclear environment. An experimentally validated model will be developed so it provides a means of transferring laboratory data to practical engineering components.Â
Candidate requirements:Â A first or upper second-class degree in engineering, mathematics, science or related discipline. Due to funding restrictions, this studentship is open to UK nationals only.
Funding: Tuition fees plus a tax-free stipend of £13,726, funded by Rolls-Royce.
