Funding is available for a PhD Studentship in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The area of application is the transonic flow found in engine intakes. The objective of the work is to improve the modelling of turbulence in this zone comparing with new experimental measurements.
The applicant will need at least a 2:1 degree in engineering, a related science or applied mathematics.
The Studentship is funded by Rolls-Royce plc and the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council). Due to funding restrictions it covers all University and College fees and maintenance for a UK student, and fees only for EU applicants. Non EU applicants are not eligible for this funding award. Funding is available for 3.5 years.
