The Cardiff School of Computer Science & Informatics is a research-led School in one of the UKâs premier universities with a leading, international reputation for excellent teaching and research activities. The scholarship includes provision of a laptop or desktop computer, and funds attendance at one national and one international conference during the three years of study. To develop your teaching and research skills, and aid career development (either within or outside academia), a wide range of training courses and workshops are available to our postgraduate students. Students are also able to attend a wide range of Masters modules relevant to their research, across a number of Schools.
Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to supplement their stipend by undertaking teaching assistance within the School. Students may take up to six hours per week, equivalent to between £60 and £120 (at 2013/14 rates) depending on the type of session. Such activities may include supervising tutorial and practical computing classes, and course admin duties.

Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent) Residency: The full award is open to all students of any nationality without restrictions.
Funding
This studentship is generously funding by the Cardiff School of Computer Science and Informatics. The award will cover fees at the Home/EU fee rate and will provide an annual stipend (£13,726 in 2013/14). If successful, an International candidate (non-EU) would need to self-fund the remainder of the overseas tuition fee.
