PhD Studentship in Humanitarian Engineering

Applications are invited for: PhD Studentship in Humanitarian Engineering Funded by: Coventry University and the Faculty of Engineering and Computing Fees: UK/EU fee equivalent for three years Maintenance grant: £13,726 maintenance per annum (tax free) Studentship academic contact  Dr Elizabeth Miles   External collaborators Partnerships are central to our work we have a range of partners including Engineers Against Poverty, RedR UK, Engineers Without Borders UK, Buro Happold and the Royal Academy of Engineering in order to ensure our teaching and research reflects the realities of, and current trends in, industry Humanitarian Engineering and Computing takes a holistic approach, drawing on, and feeding into, a diverse range of disciplines. Some of our areas of expertise include shelter (specifically the use of bamboo); WASH; search and rescue; use of virtual environments in the teaching of humanitarian work. We have secured a Royal Academy of Engineering visiting Professorship, two Royal Academy of Engineering Teaching Fellowships and PhD studentships.     • A minimum of a 2:1 first degree in a relevant discipline/subject area with a minimum 60% mark in the Project element or equivalent with a minimum 60% overall module average.
