The studentship will be housed within the Oxford Brookes Poetry Centre (http://poetry.brookes.ac.uk/). Our current activities are in the areas of poetry and science; poetry and the environment; performance poetry in Oxfordshire; poetry and utopias; and the poetics of modernist drama. Most recently, we have organised events at the Oxford Literary Festival and at Pegasus Theatre, Oxford, as part of our commitment to taking scholarly research outside the academy. Director of the Poetry Centre: Dr Eóin Flannery, eflannery@brookes.ac.uk
The Poetry Centre acts as a base for post-doctoral researchers and graduate students studying and writing poetry, and it oversees the Royal Literary Fund Fellowship scheme at Oxford Brookes University. Departmental teaching and research interests in poetry range from the early modern period to the present day. Our creative writing staff include contemporary poets: Tobias Hill and Oxford City Poet Kate Clanchy, working alongside Creative Writing Fellow Patience Agbabi.
