The Studentship
We invite applications for a fully funded PhD Studentship. The three-year studentship is funded by the Psychology Department and is available to work under the supervision of Professor Sotaro Kita in the Department of Psychology at the University of Warwick. Professor Kita can supervise projects in two areas: (1) gestures that people produce during speaking and thinking, and (2) language and/or gesture development in children (infants and toddlers).  Some teaching support duties will be required. Applicants with a background and interest in any area of language and communication, broadly defined, are encouraged to apply. Training in research methods and statistics for psychology is essential (those without such training should discuss their options with Professor Sotaro Kita s.kita@warwick.ac.uk). A master's degree is welcome, but is not necessary.  We encourage applicants to contact Professor Kita to discuss the project areas at an early stage.
