Information about the project:
Regenerative Medicine develops therapies for ageing, degenerative and injury-related pathologies. Our CDT provides a genuinely multidisciplinary training across the spectrum of regenerative medicine, turning out future leaders equipped to meet the needs of academia and industry. It encompasses formal training and PhD research projects that integrate elements of bioengineering, nanotechnology and biomaterials, stem cell biology, extracellular matrix and inflammation, translational gene/cell therapies and tissue engineering, all delivered on our state-of-the-art biomedical campus.
Students will also be trained in the commercial translation of regenerative medicine, with industrial partners who contribute placement opportunities. Students will complete three core lecture courses, three optional lecture courses, and three enquiry-based learning modules with assessed elements of skills training during the first 6 months. They will then select a research project to complete their PhD over the final 3.5 years.
Qualifications applicants should have/expected to receive:
At least an Upper Second Class Honours degree in a relevant subject.
Amount of funding available and eligibility:
12 studentships are available on the programme and candidates must be from with the UK/EU in order to be eligible due to funding restrictions. Further details on eligibility can be found on the website.
