AHRC funded Doctoral Studentships now available

The College of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Dundee is pleased to invite applications for PhD studentships, through their involvement in the recently announced AHRC (Arts & Humanities Research Council) Doctoral Training Partnership Scotland. We particularly welcome research proposals and applications which relate to our research strengths in the following areas, but also encourage interdisciplinary and inter-institutional proposals:

  • Law: Public International Law; Environmental Law; Criminal Law and Justice; Commercial Law; Human Rights; Private International Law.
  • History: Global History, Scottish History (particularly seventeenth and eighteenth century political history, nineteenth century social history, migration history and environmental history), European History, American History, Atlantic History, Eighteenth Century History, History of Empire, Gender History.
  • English: Literature, Intermediality and Visual Culture; Book History and Print Culture; Comics and Film Studies; Creative Cultures.
  • Philosophy: Continental Philosophy.

The studentships are open to UK and EU applicants and will cover tuition fees and a yearly tax-free maintenance grant (UK students only). 

To be considered for an award, candidates must have applied to study at the University of Dundee through the UKPASS application system and be in receipt of a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on a PhD programme in one of the research disciplines listed above.

The deadline for all studentship applications is Monday 20 January 2014.
