Brunel?s Women in Engineering programme is designed, with industry, to support women engineers to become future leaders in engineering. The programme runs in parallel to your chosen MSc course, providing additional contact with industry through mentoring and site visits, and professional development training designed specifically for female postgraduate students.?In return you will become ambassadors for the engineering profession and this programme. For 2014-15, we are offering 40 scholarships for UK/EU female students, covering both tuition fees for qualifying full-time MSc courses and a living allowance of £15,000.?The following is one of the qualifying courses: Building Services Engineering MSc The Building Services Engineering course responds to the worldwide demand for building services engineers who have a sound knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply this knowledge within the building services industry.? The aims of this course are: Building services engineering is an interdisciplinary profession. It involves the specification, design, installation and management of all the engineering services associated with the built environment. With the growing complexity of engineering services in modern buildings and the significance of energy conservation and emissions control, the role of the building services engineer is becoming increasingly important. In addition, the need to provide an internal environment that balances the comfort needs of the occupants with the functional requirements of the building calls for engineers with a wide range of knowledge and skills. The aim of the programme is to respond to the worldwide demand for building services engineers who have a sound knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply this knowledge to the complex situations prevailing within the building services industry.
