The Transportation Research Group is one of the UKâs longest established and leading centres for engineering-related transport teaching and research and is looking for a Senior Research Assistant  for the Human Factors of Vehicle Automation Project (HF-Auto project). We are seeking to appoint two Senior Research Assistant in HF-AUTO.
The HF-AUTO project is funded by a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (Marie Curie ITN), with seven partners throughout Europe. All partners are advertising for a total of 14  positions  in the project "HFAuto: Human Factors of Automated Driving". The role will involve the study of driver awareness and arousal during long monotonous monitoring of automation whilst being transported in a platoon and assessing driver states such as vigilance, situation awareness, trust, locus of control, and satisfaction/acceptance. Â
With an MSc degree or equivalent, you will also need to specialise in one of the following fields: human factors, ergonomics, cognitive psychology, artificial intelligence, human-machine interface design, cognitive modelling, automotive technology, driver assistance systems, control theory, transport modelling, and safety analysis. You will also be expected to register to undertake a PhD.
