Background
School of Health Sciences World Cities Doctoral Studentship in Health Psychology/Behavioural Medicine
The School of Health Sciences, City University London is pleased to be able to offer a three year full time Doctoral Studentship in Health Psychology/Behavioural Medicine from January 2014. The focus of the PhD is on behaviour change in Heart Failure. This exciting project involves collaboration with Northeastern University, Bouvé College of Nursing, School of Nursing in Boston USA. The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time in Boston where it is expected that they will conduct a randomised controlled trial as part of the PhD.
Responsibilities
The Studentship includes a bursary (which will be £16,000 in 2014/15) plus full tuition fee waiver and £1,000, which may be used across the three-year period to cover the cost of conference attendance, equipment purchase or other activity. As part of the studentship the successful candidate may also be expected to undertake some form of teaching support activity as part of the bursary arrangements â the exact form of this will be agreed with the School. The continuation of the Studentship will be subject to the School confirming satisfactory progress at the end of each year.
Person Specification
The successful applicant must have, or be in the final year of studying for, an MSc in Health psychology or a related discipline with an understanding of Self Management and Behaviour Change in Chronic Disease.
