The Cancer Research UK London Research Institute (LRI) has an international reputation for research into the basic biology of cancer and is committed to training the next generation of research scientists. The LRI is a founding partner of the new Francis Crick Institute, opening in 2015.
We are looking for exceptional students to join the new Crick-LRI PhD Programme launching in September 2014.
Crick-LRI students will benefit from well-resourced research labs and state-of-the art core technology facilities. Excellent scientific and transferable skills training, in a supportive and stimulating research environment, will help our students develop into independent research scientists with strong career prospects. Crick-LRI students will register at one of the Crick partner universities: Kingâs College London, Imperial College London or University College London, providing a wide range of complementary academic and social facilities. They will move with their research group into the Crickâs new interdisciplinary facilities in central London from 2015.
We are keen to attract outstanding applicants who are committed to doing a PhD and who hold or expect to gain a first/upper second class honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and who have research experience (either as part of or outside of a university degree course).
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a three day interview programme, which will be held from 22nd to 24th January 2014 (inclusive).
Successful applicants will be awarded a non-taxable annual stipend of £21,000 plus payment of University tuition fees.
