About the project:
The Shared Service Centre (SSC) model retains support services in-house and combines a market-style, customer-centred, outlook with in-house management direction and control. The creation of a SSC typically involves a number of dispersed processes units being brought together in one geographical location.
Previous research at Loughborough has identified that there is a move from âmanaging by the numbersâ to âmanaging through the peopleâ and that performance improves as a by-product of people centred actions such as instilling pride, through reputation building, and by focusing attention on constructive actions. Key areas for attention are: 1) Face-to-face communication; 2) Empowerment underpinned by relevant and reliable information; 3) Continuous improvement, and 4) Benchmarking through extensive use of peer-to-peer networking forums and company visits.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with leading experts in business process management and a range of blue-chip companies throughout the world.
The successful candidate must be prepared to travel and to have (or the ability to develop) high level analytical skills in respect of quantitative and qualitative data. Fluency in English is essential.
