Eligibility Requirements for the British Council Teachers Training Scholarship
To be eligible for the British Council Teachers Training Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a 2:1 or predicted 2:1 in a Bachelor of Honours degree (or equivalent), or a relevant PhD or Master’s degree, or a recognized equivalent.
- Have a degree in one of the following languages:
- French
- German
- Spanish
- The British Council may also consider applications from individuals with a Bachelor of Honours degree (or equivalent) in another subject or a 2:2 (or predicted 2:2) if you can demonstrate significant knowledge of the target languages.
Additionally, you must have secured a place on an eligible non-salaried language teacher training scheme in England for the 2025/26 academic year by September 2025.
