The University of Pavia in Italy, in partnership with EDiSU (Institute of the Right to University Studies), is offering CICOPS Scholarships for the year 2025. These scholarships support visiting scholars from developing countries for research collaborations lasting between 4 and 12 weeks at the University of Pavia.
The CICOPS Scholarship covers travel costs, meals, accommodation, health insurance, and includes a weekly contribution of €150 (gross).
Established in 1987, CICOPS (Committee for International Cooperation for Development) aims to foster cooperation and academic exchange between the University of Pavia and institutions in developing countries. The scholarship program is designed to promote short-term mobility of researchers, strengthening international research ties and collaboration.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the CICOPS Research Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have a minimum of two years of teaching experience or professional engagement with international organizations or institutions.
- Be affiliated as junior or senior staff with universities in developing countries, or be members of prominent research centers or international institutions with a focus on development studies.
Please note: Individuals currently enrolled in Doctoral or Postgraduate programs at Italian universities are not eligible to apply.
Scholarship Duration and Benefits
Selected scholars will receive support for a research stay at the University of Pavia ranging from 4 to 12 weeks. The scholarship includes:
- An official invitation letter to support the visa application process (in special cases, a contribution toward visa issuance may be provided).
- A round-trip economy class flight ticket.
- Health and personal accident insurance coverage.
- Accommodation at a University College in Pavia.
- A meal card for use at university canteens.
- A weekly contribution of €150 (gross) for the duration of the stay.

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (preferably in the European format), including a list of publications.

- Invitation Letter from the professor or researcher at the University of Pavia with whom you intend to collaborate.

Please ensure that your documents are named exactly as specified. Applications submitted without properly named files will not be considered.
