The Alex Otti Foundation Scholarship is a fully funded program awarded to students based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and a demonstrated commitment to using their knowledge for societal development.
Scholarship recipients are expected to apply their skills to improve the lives of others. Over time, the Foundation aims to build a strong network of leaders who will contribute to the progress of Abia State and Nigeria as a whole.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Alex Otti Foundation Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be current 200-level (2nd-year) students in any government-owned tertiary institution in Nigeria.
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 (or its equivalent) from their first academic year.
- Not be siblings of current scholarship recipients until their sibling’s award tenure is completed.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- Statement of Result – Signed by the Department/Faculty’s Admin Officer, verifying first-year academic performance.
- Proof of Residency in Abia State – Either a letter of recognition from a community/religious leader or a recent electricity utility bill (last three months).
- 1200-Word Essay, divided into three parts:
- A description of their nuclear family and their role within it.
- An experience of being part of a community and their contributions to it.
- Their thoughts on giving back to society.
- Valid Means of Identification – Such as a student ID, national ID, or passport.
