Applications are now open for the DAAD Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLF) Scholarship 2025, a fully funded opportunity for both domestic and international students pursuing doctoral studies or research in Germany.
The scholarship offers an annual grant of €16,800, covering living costs, research-related expenses, and health insurance. It is awarded by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, a political educational institution affiliated with DIE LINKE (The Left Party), and grounded in values of social justice, equity, and solidarity.
Who Can Apply – Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled at a state or state-recognised university in Germany.
- Have a supervising university lecturer in Germany for your research or doctoral study.
- Hold a strong academic record (very good graduate degree).
- Demonstrate active social or political engagement that aligns with the foundation’s values.
- Possess proficiency in German at B2 level or higher (with valid proof).
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- A monthly stipend of €1,450 for doctoral students.
- An additional €100 mobility allowance.
- Health insurance subsidies, if applicable.
The scholarship is awarded for two years, with the possibility of two 6-month extensions for academic or technical reasons. An additional one-year extension may be granted for reasons such as illness, disability, or parental leave.
Note: The RLF also supports international Master’s students who are temporarily residing in Germany for academic purposes.
