You will work with Dr Julie Irving at the Northern Institute for Cancer Research on a Newcastle Healthcare Charity-funded project. You will be involved in cutting-edge research aimed at establishing mass cytometry for the analysis of survival signalling pathways in drug naïve and persisting tumour cells in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. There will be training given in the detection of minimal residual disease in clinical samples by both flow and mass cytometry and the analyses of the resultant large data sets.
You will have a PhD in the area of cancer or leukaemia biology and have a good knowledge, understanding and significant experience in multiparameter flow cytometry. Expertise in the analysis of phosho-proteins by flow cytometry or western blotting is also desirable.
Excellent communication, team-working skills and problem-solving abilities are required.
Informal enquiries should be made to Dr Julie Irving (julie.irving@ncl.ac.uk).
This post is available immediately and tenable for 1 year.
