A computational Research Assistant/Associate position is available to join Professor Julie Ahringer's laboratory to study regulatory elements, their relationship to repetitive sequences, and their evolution in Caenorhabditis.
The successful candidate will have, or be close to a completion of, a PhD in an area of computational biology, excellent verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Expertise in programming, the analysis of regulatory and repetitive elements, the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq), and evolutionary analyses are essential. A thorough understanding of molecular biology techniques is also necessary.
The Gurdon Institute is located in the heart of the city of Cambridge, and is part of the University's School of Biological Sciences.
