Research Associate: Proteins in Cancer Progression (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to work under the supervision of Dr Gonçalo Bernardes on an ERC-funded research project, involving the development of bioorthogonal chemical strategies combined with super-resolution microscopy for imaging and tracking proteins involved in cancer progression.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the genetic encoding of the non-canonical amino acids into proteins and the application of bioorthogonal reactions for labelling and monitoring cancer-associated proteins in their native, in vivo, context.

Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in chemical, molecular, or cellular biology. Experience of bioorthogonal chemistry, molecular biology, in particular genetic encoding of non-natural amino acids, as well as advanced microscopy imaging are desirable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
