The School of Life Sciences is at the forefront of research in the biological sciences in the UK, coming in the top 10 in the REF 2014.
The Sussex Drug Discovery Centre (SDDC) wishes to recruit to a number of 4 year positions in medicinal chemistry, protein production, crystallography, assay development and cell biology. The Centre is looking to recruit talented scientists to join our multidisciplinary drug discovery team to develop new cancer therapies in collaboration with scientists at the Genome Damage and Stability Centre. Funded by a multi-million pound award from the Wellcome Trust, and working in close collaboration with scientific leaders at AstraZeneca and experts in cancer research, scientists at the centre will develop a portfolio of new cancer drugs by exploiting DNA damage and repair mechanisms to kill tumour cells.
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing research group working in a multidisciplinary environment on an exciting and emerging area of oncology drug discovery research.
