Applications are invited for a Research Technician post in the Telemore Replication and Stability Group headed by Dr Jean-Baptiste Vannier at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre, Imperial College London (csc.mrc.ac.uk/research-group/telomere-replication-and-stability).
The objective of our group is to discover the mechanisms that help DNA replication at hard to replicate loci including the end of the chromosomes called telomeres, which can form DNA secondary structures and are rich in heterochromatin marks. We have recently analysed the telomere proteome under replication stress to discover new factors regulating their faithful replication. We will now investigate the role of some of these factors, which are essential to suppress human diseases and aging.
The post-holder will play a key role in generating constructs for the studies of the whole group, as well as assisting the doctoral and post-doctoral workers on the programme in their scientific studies. The successful candidate will be immersed in an integrative research environment with opportunities to work with other scientists within the Institute. Candidates should have experience in laboratory-based research and tissue culture of human cell lines. You should possess a Bachelor degree in a life sciences subject, a Master’s degree in a life sciences subject is desirable.
