Christ’s College, Cambridge invites applications for a stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship in Science, Technology and Medicine supported by the Todd-Croucher Fund. In order to be eligible, candidates will hold the status of “permanent resident” of Hong Kong and hold a first degree, higher degree, or are currently studying for a higher degree. Tenable for four years from not later than 1 October 2017 and not renewable, a Junior Research Fellowship is intended for a researcher early in their career and offers an opportunity to carry out novel research in a stimulating academic environment.
In addition to pursuing research, it is hoped that the Research Fellow will take a full part in College life and activities. They are expected to undertake some undergraduate teaching during term, for which payment will be made at normal supervision rates. The Research Fellow will be a member of the Governing Body, eligible to sit on College committees with the full privileges of a Fellow which include seven free meals per week and the possibility of financial support for expenses associated with their research.
The stipend for a Junior Research Fellow is currently £21,605 pa (with a PhD) and £17,703 (without a PhD) including, where appropriate, single accommodation in College or a non-pensionable living out allowance.
